Life Story

I was blessed to be able to grow up in Charlotte, North Carolina, in a Christian home where both of my parents were in ministry. My father was a pastor of several Southern Baptist churches, and my mother served in many roles within the church. I was saved at the age of 7, but my walk with Jesus became real later in life when my faith started to become my own.

We went through a church split while in high school, and I became very angry at the Church. It was during that time that a student pastor at the church we were attending began to disciple me. He was a huge influence in my life. After graduating from high school, I began studying at Moody Bible Institute. It was there that I surrendered to the Lord's call to be a student pastor. I wanted to influence other students like I had been influenced. After spending a few years working in the business world for Nike, I went into full-time student ministry.

While in Chicago, I met my wife, Keri. She is from North Carolina as well and was working in the inner city of Chicago at the time. In 1997, we got married and began working in full-time ministry. After serving on staff at a church in South Carolina for five years, Keri and I moved to New Orleans where I continued my studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While there, I served at FBC LaPlace as the student minister and then graduated in 2004 with my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling.

After graduation from NOBTS, I went to serve a church in Bowling Green, Kentucky, as the student pastor. After serving there for five years, I felt the Lord was calling me into full-time missions. I joined NEXT Worldwide in 2009 and moved the family to Flower Mound. I have served as the Director of Missions for NEXT and now East-West Ministries International for the last 10 years. Keri and I have attended TVC since 2013.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope is to see lives changed through the power of the gospel. My prayer is that our church family would participate in His kingdom purposes rather than simply spectate. I long to see us actively involved in pushing back darkness and living out our faith daily. Ultimately, it is my hope that The Village would bring glory to God through seeing people rescued and redeemed.
