Life Story
I was born in Massachusetts to parents who loved God and modeled how to follow Jesus. You could say I grew up in a Christian bubble, but I’m incredibly grateful for the biblical foundation that helped shape my morals, values, and beliefs. At the age of 9, I was ready to surrender to Jesus and make Him King of my life.
I spent the first couple months of college being absorbed with myself. I was lonely but didn’t want to put the effort into belonging in a community of believers. I soon realized I needed to be actively pursuing relationships not only with other believers, but with Jesus. Living without parental supervision made me realize this was my faith, and if I wanted it to grow, I had to put serious effort into it. I jumped right into the college ministry at my local church and never looked back.
Over the next four years, God used that college ministry and nursing school to show me my idols and sin. God stripped me of my comfort and security and brought me to a place where I needed to surrender all I had to Him and live open-handedly. Those were some really hard years. And yet, they were some of my favorites because of the evident growth I saw in my life.
After college, I moved back home, and felt like I was in a long season of waiting. Through this new season, the Lord showed me that even when my circumstances aren’t what I want, I’m called to be faithful and obedient to Him. When my church closed in 2019, I decided to move to Texas to attend The Village Church. The Village greatly impacted my life for years prior to moving to Texas and continues to do so to this day. I’m so grateful for the way the Lord has crafted my story, and I want to spend the rest of my days loving and serving Him.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope is that we would be imitators of Jesus in our actions, thoughts, and speech, striving to do all things for the glory of God.
