Life Story
I was born in the San Francisco Bay area but raised in Carrollton, Texas. I have two amazing parents who provided my brother and I with a loving and emotionally safe environment where we could thrive. I wasn’t intentionally discipled to follow Christ, but we did attend a Methodist church that provided a loving community for my family. God revealed Himself to me in high school through friends and through a miracle. I surrendered my life to Christ in 1997.
I attended Abilene Christian University where I graduated with a degree in social work, then went on to receive my Master’s in social work at the University of Texas at Arlington. During my years in Abilene, I met my wife, and we were married in 2005. I also started mentoring a young boy who we eventually adopted in 2011. My wife and I have since had the blessing of fostering five children and adopting four more. In all, we have had the blessing of parenting 10 children who we love deeply.
Professionally, I have spent 14 years serving in K–12 schools as a social worker, counselor, and prevention specialist. God has blessed me with the opportunity to work in several school settings, from rural to inner-city to private. In 2015, I was called into vocational ministry where I have served as a recovery minister and a discipleship minister.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope is that we would be a people who reject the lies of Satan and accept the truths of who God is and who God says we are. I hope that in believing God’s truth, we might live into the fullness of life in Christ.
