Life Story
I think I was born on the cradle roll at church. My parents faithfully took me to Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Sunbeams, GA's, Wednesday youth group and really, anytime the doors of the church were opened. When I was in fourth grade, our church had an old-fashioned revival and I received Jesus into my heart. I can clearly remember coming up out of the baptismal waters and realizing that I was a new creation. I grew up thinking that if I went to church, didn't drink or cuss or dance that God would love me more. I knew there had to be more than just checking off my list of do's and don'ts. I got caught up in pleasing man rather than seeking an intimate relationship with Jesus.
My young adult years were spent serving in the church and just being busy, following all the rules. Then I joined my first ladies Bible study group. I started learning who God was by truly studying His word. The more I learned about Him and His character, the more I wanted to know Him. I came to realize that my relationship with God was not about checking off my list of do's and don'ts, it was about knowing Him, glorifying Him and praising Him. There are times when I fall back into my old mindset, and then God will show me who He really is - blessed redeemer, beautiful savior, loving Father. I know that God will continue to reveal more and more of Himself to me.
My husband, Kyle, and I have been married for 27 years and we have two daughters, Ashley and Avery. We live in Flower Mound and are blessed to be a part of The Village family.
Hope for The Village Church
My hope is that The Village will be a light to the world and that we will glorify God through our changed hearts by living out the gospel.
